This site is a registrations database for all commercial and contracted public passenger transport services operating in the Canterbury region as required under Section 29 of the Public Transport Management Act 2008.
If you are an operator who currently has services registered with Environment Canterbury, please login to view and edit your registration details.

Public Transport Services that are required to be registered
These are services that are carried out by means of a large or small passenger service vehicle, a ferry, a hovercraft, a rail vehicle or any other mode of transport (other than air transport) that runs to a schedule and are available to the general public.
These services are categorised into the following sections:
- Commercial public transport services (those which the regional council has not contracted to pay for the supply of) and
- Contracted public transport services (those which the regional council has contracted to pay for the supply of, and are described in the regional councils regional public transport plan)
Public Transport Services that do not need to be registered
The following public transport services do not need to be registered with the regional council:
- Taxi services
- Shuttle services
- Dial a Driver services
- Ambulance services
- Private hire services
- Services operated primarily for the purpose of providing a tourism experience (rather than transporting people from place to place)
- Service contracted by the Ministry of Education for the purpose of transporting school children to/from school
- Services that are operated to transport passengers to a pre-determined event
- Services that are not available to the general public
